Daughter of Madness 2020 – Pearl Cider

Boy is this one fun! This Pearl Cider creation from Daughters of Madness is a base cider made from Portugese apple varieties and was housed in French Burgundy barrels for several months. 25 hefty kilograms of Belgian black currants, groselha preta, were added to each barrel alongside a small satchel of star anise. You will find this cider fruity full of flavours of developed dark fruits, earthy and a tickle higher in acidity. The star anise adds soft notes of clove, cinnamon and cola. Delicious!

Daughters of Madness is a project from Luke and Joanna, with the whole project being a tribute to their beautiful daughters. After graduating from a University in the United States, Luke went straight to work at a winery. He creates the wines and ciders and Joanna enjoys using her art and design background to help organize and create all of the visual content, including the bottle labels.
